What a housewares package is
A housewares package is a boxed kit of the household goods a temporary home is missing. The insurance displacement kit covers small kitchen appliances, utensils, and bed and bath goods for a displaced family. Other kits are built for corporate stays, for rental owners refreshing a unit, and for moves where the goods ship out and ship back. The largest kit coordinates full home furnishings. If the household only needs one thing, such as bedding or a coffee maker, single items can be ordered without a full kit.
Every kit can be changed at the line-item level: swap an item, remove it, upgrade it, or add to it. If nothing needs changing, the kit ships as built. Orders ship nationwide with tracking and receipt confirmation in an order portal, so whoever placed the order can see where it is and confirm it arrived. Optional replacement service covers items that get broken during a stay.

With an on-site placement
When we set a furnished travel trailer on a family’s own property, the unit already has a kitchen, a bath, beds, and heat and air. A housewares package fills in the rest. We pair it with the placement so the kitchen is stocked and the beds have linens when the family walks in, and nobody spends the first days of the stay buying pots and sheets. Our driver sets and levels the unit, licensed and insured contractors from our preferred vendor network complete the utility connections, and site conditions are documented at setup and at takedown. The housewares ride on the same file, handled by the same named contact.
Each 1st Choice Living brand is available on its own. If the family is in an apartment, a rental house, or any other furnished housing, you can order a package without a trailer and have it shipped to that address.
Billing
1st Choice Living bills carriers, TPAs, housing companies, and employers directly, and housewares can be billed the same way where the program allows it. On a covered claim, the family pays $0 out of pocket for the placement. If you already have a 1st Choice Living account, skip the order form and email kit@temporaryhousewares.com. If you are new, the request form on the Temporary Housewares site asks who you are and which kit you want, and we follow up from there.
